Nallamudi Poonjolai, Valparai.

Nallamudi- Pooncholai(valley view): 15kms from valparai.

Nallamudi valley view can be reached thorough a gateway in the tea garden. From here you can spot an excellent view anaimudi peak, the highest peak in south india. There are few falls on the valley one of which appear as streaks. This is truly a sight to behold. The nearby Muthuvan tribal settlements provide ample opportunity to satisfy the explorer in you. Edamalakudy is the first tribal paanchayath in Kerala, It is situated around 22 km from Pettimudi, which is the farthest spot one can go on a vehicle.

See below Snapshot of Muthuvans:

You can also view Chinna Kallar falls from Nallamudi Poonjolai, Chinna Kallar is the third wettest place in India. The hill area is full of greenish dense forest with tall majestic trees and bamboo. The Parambikulam wildlife sanctuary is a reservoir of tranquil greenery ensconced in a valley between the Anaimalai Hills range and Nelliampathy ranges. The virgin valley offers untouched nature and peninsular flora and fauna with many species of Mammals, amphibians, birds and reptiles. There is a astonishing waterfall in Chinnakallar which sounds like a roaring lion.

You can also view Nirar Dam downward stream which will merge with Idamalayar River and finally reaches Idamalayar Reservoir. Whatever you see on the right side of the view is Idamalaayar reserve forest.
