Nadukani Churam / Vazhikkadavu


Vazhikkadavu is a small town in Nilambur taluk of Malappuram district, India. It is located on the CNG (Calicut-Nilambur-Gudalur) road 20 km north-east of Nilambur town. Just after Vazhikkadavu town the ghat road (known as Nadukani Churam) starts through forests leading to Nadukani (20 km away) in Nilgiris district. The Kerala-Tamil Nadu border is at about 10 km from Vazhikkadavu. The town has hotels, restaurants and shops open 24x7.

Nadukani Churam connects Kerala to Tamil Nadu @ Gudallur. This route is one of the main interstate route to Ooty, Mysore and Bangalore. Many KSRTC, Kerala RTC and TNSTC buses running via this route.

Nadukani Churam is a visual beauty, half of the stretch belongs to Kerala and Half to Tamilnadu. This Churam(ghat pass) wont be having many hairpin bends like other major ghat roads.

Nilambur - Malappuram district


Nilambur is a municipality and a taluk in the Malappuram district of Kerala, South India. It is situated close to the Nilgiris range of the Western Ghats on the banks of the Chaliyar River. It is about 40 kilometers from Malappuram city and 24 kilometres from Manjeri on the Kozhikode–Gudalur road called CNG road (Calicut-Nilambur-Gudallur road).

The longest Hanging Bridge in Kerala, across river Chaliyar will take one to the Conolly plot, which is just 300 metres off the Calicut-Nilambur-Ooty State Highway.
